The original fab four are about to get a little love from a much newer quartet: EW has learned exclusively that Big Time Rush — the boy band behind Nickelodeon’s hit comedy series of the same name — will sing four Beatles classics in their first TV movie, Big Time Movie, which they are currently shooting in Vancouver.

The Beatles songs they’ll sing in the movie are “A Hard Day’s Night,” “Revolution,” “We Can Work It Out,” and “Help!”

“We are excited to help introduce the Beatles music to a younger generation,” says band member Logan Henderson. “They were such amazing artists we feel so honored to have this opportunity.”

“How do you not get excited about that?” creator/exec producer Scott Fellows tells EW. “We wanted to make sure we were respectful to the music and celebrate it and do something that, hopefully, Ringo [Starr] and Paul [McCartney] would appreciate.”

As for plot, the movie finds the foursome — Kendall Schmidt, 21; Logan Henderson, 22; James Maslow, 21; and Carlos Pena, 22 — landing in London to kick off their world tour just as they get caught up in a James Bond-style mission to save the world. Specifically, their bags are switched at the airport and the boys are stuck with a device that could end civilization, if it got into the wrong hands. The movie, just like the series, is full of action and even includes a special agent named Penny Lane, in a nod to the Beatles. “We’ve got spy cars, we’ve got ninjas, we’ve got back flips, and we’ve got explosions,” says Fellows. “It’s really an homage to all those great spy films — but with music.”

“We’re calling this A Hard Day’s Night meets Austin Powers,” quips Marjorie Cohn, Nickelodeon’s president of original programming. “We’re doing cool and comedy and making it into a Big Time Rush caper.”

The show Big Time Rush averages 4.1 million viewers a week, and it’s launch drew 6.8 million viewers to Nickelodeon. Naturally, the upcoming movie — set to premiere in spring 2012 — will also include the title track from the forthcoming Big Time Rush album, Elevate, which hits stores Nov. 21.
